Royal London is the largest mutual life and pensions company in the UK with group funds under management of £73.6 billion. Group businesses serve over 5.3 million customers and employ 2,900 people, with over 1,000 based in Scotland. (Figures quoted are as at 31 December 2013.)

The Group’s main offices are in the City of London, Edinburgh, Wilmslow in Cheshire, Isle of Man, Glasgow, Reading, Dublin and Bath.

Over the next two years the Group is moving to operate all of its UK life, pension and investment business under a new version of the Royal London brand. The Group’s wrap platform will remain branded Ascentric, and the Caledonian Life brand will be utilised in the Irish Republic.

Scottish Life is the retirement specialist in the Royal London Group, helping customers to enjoy financial freedom in their later years.

For individual customers there is an individual pension plan, Pension Portfolio, a single lifestyle solution that can act as a personal pension, a SIPP and an income drawdown plan.  For group pension customers Scottish Life offers a full market solution that centres on support for advisers, employers, trustees and employees.

Bright Grey is a modern, forward-thinking protection business set up in 2003 to provide flexible insurance plans that suit today's lifestyles and offer more than just a cheque.

Its Personal Protection Menu and Business Protection Menu plans are sold through advisers.  These plans include Life Cover, Life or Critical Illness Cover, Critical Illness Cover, Income Cover for Sickness and Payment Cover for Sickness.

Scottish Provident joined the Royal London Group in 2008 and is one of the leading providers of life, critical illness, income protection and unemployment cover.  In addition, whole of life products aimed at saving for an Inheritance Tax bill are also available.  Scottish Provident protection products are available exclusively through financial advisers.
