Previous winners
The Innovators Awards attract entries from a wide spectrum of companies, from multi-national established financial institutions to niche support services firms.
The Royal Bank of Scotland and Aegon UK were overall winners in 2006 and 2007 respectively; Aegon won again in 2008, and Scottish Life were the 2009 Innovators winning company.
Standard Life received a special award in 2008 for their Step Up In Life programme which helps students make the transition from school to work. It delivers workshops in job applications, interviews and success at work to young people, disadvantaged groups and the unemployed.
Past category winners have included Standard Life, Bright Grey, F&C Asset Management, Martin Currie, Clydesdale Bank and Scottish Investment Operations.
Aegon won top award at last year's Innovators for its 5 for Life retirement solution. It was the first product for the UK pensions market to guarantee income of at least 5% of the amount invested for the rest of the investor's life.
