The Bank of England is the central bank of the UK.  It has 12 regional Agencies whose main role is to support the Monetary Policy Committee by collecting first-hand information about the real economy from businesses and organisations.  The Agency for Scotland, based in Glasgow, is responsible for this work across Scotland.
