The Law Society is the membership body of the Scottish solicitors' profession. The Society promotes the interests of solicitors and the public in relation to the profession. It regulates is members, arranges a master insurance policy for all practising members and administers the Scottish Solicitors Guarantee Fund. The Society handles complaints about the conduct of Scottish solicitors. It provides services including: continuing legal education; advice on professional practice, a solicitor referral service; and a web based information service. The Society promotes law reforms and undertakes legal research and it also publishes the Law Society Journal.
