University of Glasgow/GU Holdings

The University of Glasgow is one of the UK's leading higher education institutions and has an international reputation for the quality of its research and teaching over a broad range of disciplines.  It is consistently among the top 10 earners for contract research with industry, commerce and public authorities.

The University has an expanding programme of post-graduate opportunities in a anumber of departments including Accountancy and Finance, Business and Management and the University of Glasgow Business School that offers a wide range of general, European and sector-specific courses.

Research & Enterprise deals with technology transfer, commercialisation, marketing and contractual aspects of collaborative research, the provision of technical services and consultancy, the exploitation of intellectual property generated by University staff and training courses for the private and public sectors.

GU Holdings Ltd is the University's investment company for subsidiary and spin-out company activity.  GU Holdings' aims are to maximise commerical income and investment opportunities for University subsidiary/spin-out companies and to develop new companies and certain non-academic commerical services in line with the University's marketing and commercialisation policy.  The office also deals with Corporate Development issues for the University.
