In this annual ICAS President's talk, Sir Brian Souter will outline his perspectives on how we can build a better economy and build a better society, followed by Q&A.

Sir Brian is the co-founder of the Stagecoach Group of bus and rail operators, which now operates globally with over 40,000 employees and annual revenues approaching £4billion. He also founded the bus and coach operator Megabus and the train operating company South West Trains. He is an angel investor, providing crucial seed capital for new business start-ups and has received many accolades, including Ernst & Young Scotland Overall Entrepreneur Of The Year in 2010. He is a significant contributor to charitable causes through the Souter Charitable Trust. Sir Brian was awarded a knighthood in 2011 for services to transport and the voluntary sector.

Sir Brian trained with the Glasgow office of Arthur Andersen and joined ICAS in 1984. He became president in April 2017.

Breakfast will be served from 08:00, Sir Brian will speak from 08:30, finishing by 10:00.
