Police Scotland joins forces with the University of Strathclyde to demonstrate the applicability of data science to crime prevention and policing.
Using examples ranging from burglary in Chicago to domestic violence and hate crime in Scotland, Researcher, Craig Gilmour from the University and Senior Statistician, Mark Hollinsworth from Police Scotland show how data analytics can provide actionable insights for predictive policing.
Academic Research Lead at Police Scotland, Maria MacLennan, will describe how Police Scotland are engaging with academia to help inform policing.
A light finger food buffet will be available at registration. One hour of presentations with Q&A is followed by networking with tea, coffee and soft drinks from 19:00.
