Edinburgh University webinar: what’s influencing young people’s life chances?

University of Edinburgh Business School Event

Time/date:  Friday 7 December 2018 10:00–10:45

In this webinar Dr Céline Rojon will present findings from a 3-year research project, funded by the Newton Fund, examining factors that can help and hinder young people to access higher education and the labour market.

The project’s interdisciplinary team compared young people’s experiences transitioning to higher or tertiary education and/or to the labour market across the UK, Germany, Argentina and Chile—countries differing greatly in their educational systems, national cultures and societal structures.

This webinar will be of interest to anyone working in the area of how young people can succeed in the transition from school to university and the labour market, including:

◦Policy makers or activists with an interest in young people’s life chances

◦School/University representatives

◦Organisations recruiting and employing school and university graduates

◦Youth-centred charities/NGOs

◦Researchers with an interest in life domain transitions and the role of education

◦Young people, particularly nearing their final year of school/university or entering the labour market
