Generation Next - Managing Millennials
UoE Business School Event
Date: Tuesday 6th November
Time: 18:30 - 20:00
Venue: University of Edinburgh Business School, 29 Buccleuch Place, Edinburgh, EH8 9JS,
In this joint event with ACCA, their recent report on ‘Generation Next’ (defined by ACCA as 36 years old and younger) and their relationship to the profession will be discussed.
Pick up any business magazine and there is likely to be an article about the implications of millennials in the workplace – their likes, dislikes, work habits and aspirations. But are the youngest generation at work today innately different from those in whose footsteps they are following? Are their career aspirations and work preferences truly at odds from generations before?
What are the implications of the entry of today’s younger generation in the global accountancy profession? Are their career dreams and preferences so vastly different – and at cross purposes – to a profession that is renowned for its steadfast career progression? Or are there other fundamental forces at play? What are the implications for the future of the profession?
These and further questions raised by the report will be discussed by a member of the ACCA professional insights team plus a panel of experts.
Registration and coffee from 6pm. The event will be followed by a networking drinks reception.
This event is being held in conjunction with the Business School’s Centre for Accounting and Society.
ACCA accredits the Business School’s MSc Accounting and Finance programme.
