Scottish Election Hustings - The Role of Financial Services in Economic Recovery
Date: Tuesday 20th April
Time: 10am - 11am
Scotland is home to a successful financial centre which employs over 160,000 people and continues to attract significant investment. The sector’s highly adaptable and skilled workforce, competitive location and quality of life have been the catalyst to global companies further committing to Scotland and creating jobs.
Scotland also has a competitive advantage in energy production and natural capital, and with COP26 being in held in Glasgow this year, 2021 will be a pivotal year for green finance in Scotland.
As we emerge from the pandemic and adjust to life outside of the EU, Scotland’s financial sector will play a vital role in achieving a fair, green and inclusive recovery alongside other industries. There are many challenges ahead, not least climate change, but also opportunities that will make a positive impact on society.
It is in this context that we’re inviting you to join SFE and Holyrood Communications on 20 April, 10am to discuss the future of financial services in Scotland. This is your opportunity to hear from each party’s representatives on the role they believe the sector will play in Scotland’s social and economic recovery post-election.
