Scottish Financial Enterprise invites you to attend a breakfast briefing on 15 February with Pinsent Masons LLP looking at Open Banking.

Open Banking is one of the most exciting developments in financial services for years. It has the potential to revolutionise how we engage with financial products and services. Customers will find it easier to review their financial position across different accounts and payments will be disrupted, with new parties moving into the territory occupied by debit and credit cards. The Open Banking agenda has been driven by regulation: the revised Payment Services Directive (PSD2) and the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority’s retail banking review are both mandating the opening up of bank data and the creation of common standards for the sharing of data.

Open Banking offers both opportunities and challenges, and there are many issues to be resolved even following the starting gun being fired in January 2018. For example, how to promote customer trust and ensure security of data; how to manage liability and dispute resolution around payments; how to incentivise customers to share their data.

After the key issues around Open Banking are introduced by Yvonne Dunn of Pinsent Masons she will moderate a panel discussion to debate those issues. The panel will include leading industry representatives including from banks and fintechs.

This event is kindly hosted by Pinsent Masons LLP.

This is a private event for SFE Members only, however, please pass on to any interested colleagues within your organisation.
