SFE Breakfast Briefing with the Financial Reporting Council on the UK Corporate Governance Code

Date:     Thursday 25 January 2018
Time:    08:30 arrival, for 09:00 start with a 10:00 finish
Venue:  Grant Thornton, 7 Exchange Crescent, Conference Square, Edinburgh, EH3 8AN

Scottish Financial Enterprise is delighted to invite you to a Breakfast event with the Financial Reporting Council to discuss the proposed changes to the UK Corporate Governance Code.

The UK’s globally renowned principles for corporate governance have been in place for 25 years. With public trust in business at historically low levels and companies facing challenges to demonstrate the highest levels of transparency and integrity, the Financial Reporting Council has commenced a once-in-a-generation fundamental review of the UK Corporate Governance Code.

David Styles, Director of Corporate Governance at the FRC will discuss the proposals and what they mean to SFE members and your clients, as well as the key need to ensure the Code remains globally renowned and continues to help attract investment into the UK.

Some of the issues the Code will tackle include how to represent the views of the workforce in the Boardroom, diversity, executive remuneration and ensuring business fulfils its duties to society as well as shareholders.

This event is kindly hosted by Grant Thornton.

This is a private event for SFE Members only, however, please pass on to any interested colleagues within your organisation.
