Venue: Shepherd and Wedderburn, 1 Exchange Crescent, Conference Square, Edinburgh, EH3 8UL

Scottish Financial Enterprise has the pleasure of inviting you to attend a Breakfast Briefing with Thomson Reuters looking at the future of Investment Management

New technologies are fundamentally changing the Asset Management industry, as the rise of passive and quantitative investing removes much of the human element from the investment process. In this new context, what is the role of the fundamental manager? Do smarter machines negate the value of human involvement? Or do they make smarter humans? These questions are not merely philosophical. Firms who retain the strengths of traditional investment strategies, but augment these with the latest technologies and quantitative models, will give themselves a distinct competitive advantage.

This session will examine:

  • How technology is changing the role of fundamental managers
  • How traditional buy-side firms are using new technologies to scale their investments process
  • How to build factor-models and backtest without needing a team of Quants.

Speaking at the event will be:

Tajinder is a Senior Research Analyst based in London who covers North American and European stock markets.
