SFE Event | Brexit - What's Next for Scottish Financial Services

Date: Tuesday 23rd March

Time: 1pm-2pm

As we reach three months since the EU–UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement, join us as we discuss how Brexit has affected financial services in Scotland and what the future may bring for the sector. Our panel for this event includes:

Andrew Pilgrim from EY

Andrew leads EY’s Financial Services Government team, where he focuses on work with central banks, supervisors and governments across Europe. He will discuss the impact of the past couple of months as well as any outstanding political issues, including the Memorandum of Understanding. Andrew will also give an overview from HM Treasury and the real economy impacts and challenges, before setting a narrative for the second half of 2021.

Also speaking at this event will be Gary Marshall, Head of UK & EMEA at Aberdeen Standard Investments and Stephen Phillips a Partner at CMS and head of its Scottish Brexit group. Both Gary and Stephen will give insight into how their organisations prepared for and are dealing with Brexit and any lessons that they have learnt so far in the process.

There will be opportunities at the end of the event to ask questions to the panel. If you wish to submit a question in advance, please do so by Wednesday 17th March to events@sfe.org.uk.

All SFE members are welcome to attend. Feel free to share this invite with colleagues who may be interested.
