SFE & Pinsent Masons Breakfast Briefing - Lobbying Act Review
Date: Wednesday 18th March 2020
Time: 8.00am for 8.30am start with a 9.45am finish
Venue: Pinsent Masons, 1 Earl Grey Street, Edinburgh, EH3 9AQ
The Scottish Lobbying Act came into force on 12 March 2018, placing a legal requirement on organisations to record, on the publicly-viewable Scottish Lobbying Register, certain face-to-face interactions with MSPs, Scottish Government ministers, Special Advisers and the Scottish Government’s Permanent Secretary.
Since the Act’s introduction, almost 1,300 organisations have registered, and more than 10,000 information returns have now been published.
With the parliamentary review of the legislation due to commence shortly, Pinsent Masons and Scottish Financial Enterprise will be hosting a breakfast briefing next month with the Scottish Lobbying Registrar Billy McLaren. The event will assess the register’s first two years of operation; consider challenges which some businesses may have been experiencing when seeking to comply with the legislation; and consider how the parliamentary review may shape Scotland’s lobbying regime in future.
This event is for SFE members only. To register to attend, please click the link below.
