Scottish Financial Enterprise

FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER

February 27, 2009

GENEVA
An SFE delegation is in Geneva for a roundtable meeting with Swiss counterparts, focusing on asset management. Anne Richards, chief investment officer at Aberdeen Asset Management, leads out time. Look out for a blog from Owen in due course.

EVENTS
We have a good range of business briefings coming up over the next month. Subjects include a view from the City (from the Lord Mayor, City of London); tackling financial crime (Pinsent Masons and PWC) and doing business in China (Stuart Leckie).

We are also running Scotland's first Islamic finance conference with the Islamic Finance Council, hosted by Tods Murray, which will focus on fund management opportunities and include speakers from the Gulf and Malaysia.

These events are proving to be very popular so, as always, do ensure you sign up early if you'd like to attend.

CHILDCARE VOUCHERS
Many of our member companies are well aware of the benefits of the childcare voucher scheme - a win-win for employers and employees. But the Scottish Government is keen to ensure that no one misses out, and we are happy to support their promotional campaign amongst our membership.

SFE IN THE MEDIA
We have added a new section to our website that carries links to media coverage of SFE. It is regularly updated, and is a useful page to bookmark as an RSS feed if you want to track how SFE is responding to and promoting issues, news and opinions.

OTHER EVENTS
Check here for a list of non-SFE events that are linked with our industry, and let us know if you'd like something featured on this web page.
