Scottish Financial Enterprise (SFE) has today announced the appointment of two new Board members - Ken Barclay, Managing Director, UK Corporate Banking, Scotland, from RBS and Trevor Hatton, Managing Director, Accenture Scotland.
John Campbell, SFE Chairman, said:
" At a time of great challenges for the industry, SFE is increasingly called upon to work with its members to maintain and promote Scotland's position as a global financial centre. The addition of these two senior industry figures will further strengthen the SFE Board during this time.
" Ken's appointment reaffirms the continued importance of banking. He brings extensive experience - international and UK-based - to the Board. He will play a significant role in taking RBS forward during this critical time, and his new role with SFE will ensure the best possible links are made to the wider financial services community here in Scotland.
" For the first time the SFE Board will have a representative from the business services sector, through the appointment of Trevor. This is also a very positive step for SFE. Accenture is a global company that works with local businesses, supporting them in developing new markets and in maintaining current business. Again, at a difficult time for many in the industry, it will be a big boost to have senior expertise in this area on the SFE Board."
Ken Barclay said:
"I am pleased to join the board of SFE in what are challenging times for the financial sector in Scotland. During this period of economic turbulence it is imperative that the business community works as one to support and protect our shared interest in the success of corporate Scotland. More than ever at RBS we recognise our responsibilities to the communities we serve and I look forward to representing the interests of SFE's members as best I can."
Trevor Hatton said:
" I am delighted to join the Board of Scottish Financial Enterprise. I look forward to being part of an organisation that has such an important role to play at this time. We have the opportunity to make changes for the better, and must work together to move forward."
