Scottish Financial Enterprise (SFE) raises a number of questions over the issue of devolving corporation tax in a submission to the Scottish Parliament's Scotland Bill committee today.
SFE is "constructively sceptical" but it believes these questions need to be answered before a fully informed decision can be taken.
Owen Kelly, Chief Executive of SFE said:
"We offer the following questions which, we believe, need to be considered as part of the debate which needs to precede such a decision. We do so from a position of constructive scepticism.
"Devolving corporation tax might be good for Scotland and good for our industry; but it is difficult to form a considered view on that proposition, if these questions remain unanswered to the fullest extent possible. We therefore invite the Committee to give consideration to these and other questions forming the basis of a study, to explore all available facts and evidence, before a decision is taken."
