SCOTLAND'S FIRST ISLAMIC FINANCE CONFERENCE

Looking ahead to Scotland's first Islamic finance conference, which takes place on Thursday 2 April 2009, Owen Kelly, chief executive of Scottish Financial Enterprise, said:
" I am delighted that Scottish Financial Enterprise is jointly holding, with the Islamic Finance Council, Scotland's first Islamic finance conference, which will be hosted by Tods Murray.
" Scotland's financial services industry has always been international in its outlook. Some will already be familiar with Sharia compliant financing and this event will be a great opportunity for them to find out more; but it is also a chance for those new to this aspect of our industry to gain some early insights. Participants will hear from an impressive range of speakers, with genuine expertise, who have come to Scotland to share that and to hear about what is happening here in our own investment community.
" The Islamic Finance Council plays a leading role in promoting and explaining Sharia compliance. We are very pleased to be collaborating with them in an area with such potential for our industry."
