ELECTRIFICATION

The announcement that the railway between Glasgow and Edinburgh is to be electrified is very welcome. We have maintained for some years that this is a vital transport link for our industry and this enhancement will make working between the two cities - common practice in financial services - easier and faster. While the thought that "every minute shaved off journey times [generates] up to £60m in benefits to the economy" seems a little broad-brush, there can be no doubt that improvements like this are good for business.
