UK’S FIRST FINANCIAL RISK ACADEMY

I was delighted to welcome the launch of the UK’s first Financial Risk Academy – based at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh – in today’s Scotsman.

Heriot Watt’s team have worked in collaboration with the University of Edinburgh and with the financial services industry to get this project off the ground.  From the industry side, Aberdeen Asset Management, Lloyds Banking Group, Barrie & Hibbert and we at Scottish Financial Enterprise have all supported the academy.

This latest development is a reminder of how fortunate we are to have a group of internationally reknowned universities in Scotland which offer world class financial services and business education.

The Risk Academy will add to the specialist courses already in place from the University of Edinburgh’s Business school and School of Infomatics; Strathclyde University; Heriot Watt itself and Napier Univeristy, amongst others.
