Background
The Lord Mayor of London undertakes an extensive annual overseas visits programme, acting as an Ambassador for the UK’s Financial and Related Professional Services (FRPS) industry. On many of these visits, he is accompanied by a business delegation. These visits aim to enhance commercial opportunities in priority markets, facilitate senior networking and access new markets and client/partner relationships for the business delegation. In return, the delegation can support the Lord Mayor in delivering a confident message about the strength and competitiveness of the City of London and the wider UK FRPS industry.

Australia and New Zealand Visit
We are currently finalising the agenda which is being shaped with the British Embassy and local partner organisations in each country, and consists of a series of meetings, events and platforms to:
- Engage with and influence the political and regulatory environment;
- Showcase the City - and wider UK - expertise in FRPS; and
- Facilitate specific business outcomes for the delegation.

The agenda will offer a full programme of events, meetings and workshops, as well as pitching opportunities. Our objective is to provide a balanced, senior delegation to demonstrate the strength, diversity and innovation of the UK FRPS industry. If firms outside the identified sectors (innovation and asset management) have strong interests in these markets and wish to join the delegation we would be happy to explore with them how the Lord Mayor’s programme could be developed to support and advance their interests.
