Support for Women returning to work
Women Returners has just been awarded funding by the Scottish Government to support the Returners to Financial Services Scotland Programme, to kickstart returnships in Scotland. This will enable 40 experienced financial services professional women on career break to get back into skilled employment through a cross-company returnship. See announcement here.
We’re looking to partner with at least 10 financial services companies, in or near Edinburgh or Glasgow, who recognise the benefits of diversity and are interested in bringing returning professionals into their organisations. The programme will enable them to pilot a small-scale (1-4 person) returnship in a highly cost-effective manner. The returnships will be 3 month higher-level internships, starting in Jan/Feb 2018. The returnship placements must be driven by business needs to ensure a strong likelihood of a permanent role at the end of the 3 months, if the programme is successful for company and returner. Participating companies will provide suitable-level professional work, will pay returner salaries and will provide an internal mentor. The Government funding will pay for all of the consulting, promotional and participant support for the programme, including a returnship toolkit, programme advertising, line manager training and a returner workshop-based coaching programme.
