Objective

To establish a community focussed on action, making a difference to support SFE and the reputation of the Banking sector in Scotland and beyond.


Strategic Focus

  • Reduce the number of unbanked people in Scotland’s communities

  • Provide insight to stakeholders and government on the economy

  • Working together to reduce fraud and improve cyber security across the industry


2026 Strategic Delivery

  • Schools banking pilot, delivered via the Banking group

  • SMP education sessions

  • Economic overview for Government, as required


Activity

Stood up the Fraud and Cyber Security workstream, led by Derek Johnstone, Scottish Building Society, who will feed in regular updates to the Banking Steering Group.

Schools Banking Pilot, a strategic deliverable under the CCN strategy, will launch in June with financial literacy accredited modules delivered alongside the opening of a bank account. This will be repeated in December with the intention of a roll-out across Scotland.

Advice/Guidance roundtable with Burness Paull.

Working in collaboration with the Wealth Management Group and Life & Pensions Group on advice/guidance regulation and targeted support.
