AI: Constructive or Destructive? Navigating Opportunity, Risk and Resilience in Financial Services

  • Dentons 9 Haymarket Square Edinburgh, Scotland, EH3 8RY United Kingdom (map)

Scottish Financial Enterprise, in partnership with Albany Beck, will bring together senior leaders from across financial services, cyber security and technology for an interactive panel discussion exploring the opportunities and risks created by AI.

As financial institutions accelerate their adoption of AI, the technology is creating significant opportunities across cyber defense, fraud prevention, operational efficiency and customer experience. At the same time, AI is creating new and increasingly sophisticated forms of cyber, fraud and operational risk, raising important questions around governance, resilience and regulatory oversight

The Panel Will Explore

  • Is AI creating competitive advantage faster than it is creating new forms of risk?

  • Are existing cyber, fraud and operational control frameworks fit for an AI-enabled world?

  • Where are financial institutions achieving measurable returns from AI today?

  • How should firms balance innovation, governance and regulatory scrutiny?

  • How is AI changing the nature of cyber and fraud threats facing financial institutions?

  • What practical steps should leaders take now to prepare for the next wave of AI-driven change?

The discussion should give attendees a combination of practical AI use cases, insight into emerging cyber and fraud risks, perspectives on evolving governance and regulatory expectations, and actionable steps they can take back into their organisations.

Following the panel, we’ll also be hosting networking drinks, giving attendees an opportunity to continue the conversation and connect with peers from across the industry.
