Beyond Vibe Coding: Governing the Next Era of AI engineering

  • Addleshaw Goddard 24 Saint Andrew Square Edinburgh, Scotland, EH2 1AF United Kingdom (map)

AI-assisted Vibe Coding has moved past autocomplete and chat — agents now plan, edit across files, run commands, and open pull requests with limited human involvement, often already happening inside engineering orgs whether sanctioned or not.

This workshop opens with a look at vibe coding, the leap to agentic coding, and how the risk profile has shifted: the question is no longer "is the generated code good?" but "can an autonomous agent make changes and take actions faster than the organization can supervise, review, or explain?"

We walk through the five risk lenses of agentic development — governance, security & data, cost & control, team adoption, and human oversight — and show how an AI-assisted enterprise development platform addresses each one through its three pillars:

  • a structured human-AI collaborative development framework;

  • a reusable, guard railed agent library;

  • and a governed AI gateway.

A live end-to-end demo brings each lens to life on a single realistic feature, closing with a discussion on what it takes to move an organization from unmanaged AI risk to demonstrable readiness.

Agenda:

  • Welcome & framing — the shift from AI-assisted vibe coding to agentic development

  • The five risk lenses (governance, security & data, cost & control, team adoption, human oversight)

  • AI-assisted enterprise development platform - introduction & capability map (linking each risk lens to the pillar that resolves it)

  • Human oversight deep dive - how humans and AI must collaborate.

  • Live Demo

  • Adoption path — maturity model and how to do it.

  • Q&A

Key Takeaways:

  • A clear framework for identifying and naming the risks of agentic AI development across governance, security, cost, adoption, and oversight

  • A concrete, demonstrable model for human oversight and collaborative model that boost and improve development.

A live, end-to-end view of how an AI-assisted enterprise development platform turns each risk lens into a governed, auditable capability — with a clear path to deploy it.
