How Financial Institutions are Evolving Toward Product-Led Delivery Models

  • Johnston Carmichael 7-11 Melville Street Edinburgh, Scotland, EH3 7PE United Kingdom (map)

This Albany Beck panel event in partnership with SFE will explore how financial institutions are evolving toward product-led delivery models, balancing the need for faster execution with the realities of culture, governance, and legacy complexity.

Drawing on real-world journeys from Mark Watson, Scott Wilson, Alain Courbebaisse and Michael Robertson, the discussion will highlight how product ownership often develops most effectively from operational roles and organic leadership, rather than being imposed through top-down transformation. Speakers will share how delivering frequent, incremental change builds trust with executives, creates momentum within teams, and enables organisations to shift from annual project cycles to continuous improvement.

The session will also examine the importance of tailoring agile approaches to each team’s history and mindset - introducing new practices pragmatically, avoiding rigid frameworks, and ensuring sustainable adoption rather than short-term wins.

A key theme of the event is the growing competitive urgency around AI integration. As AI tools become increasingly embedded across the workforce, the panel will explore why AI is becoming inseparable from modern product journeys - and why organisations must accelerate adoption to remain competitive in an increasingly technology-driven landscape.

With perspectives spanning banking, asset management, and consulting, the session will provide practical, experience-led insight into how organisations are delivering meaningful change in complex environments.
