The Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) and Scottish Financial Enterprise (SFE) invite you to join them for a panel event exploring the implications of Scotland’s ageing population and the action required to respond to this significant demographic shift.
As people live longer and the balance between Scotland’s working-age and retired populations continues to change, there are important questions for policymakers, employers and the financial services sector to consider. The discussion will explore what an ageing population could mean for areas including retirement provision, long-term financial resilience and wider economic growth.
Alexandra Miles, Chair of the IFoA’s Ageing Population Working Party, will provide an international perspective by comparing Scotland’s approach with the policies and initiatives being developed in other countries. She will be joined by fellow panellists to consider what Scotland can learn from these different approaches and how organisations can work together to help people enjoy more financially secure lives.
The session will offer attendees an opportunity to hear a range of perspectives on the challenges and opportunities associated with demographic change, as well as the practical steps Scotland can take to prepare for the years ahead.
