The Scottish parliament election takes place on 7th May, with the campaign set to be one of the most unpredictable since devolution. Join us for a session to unpack the campaign and what the election could mean for financial services.
Will the SNP secure a record fifth term in office, or can Labour defy the odds and make a comeback?
Can the Conservatives retain their current position as the second largest party in Holyrood, or will Reform UK break on to the scene?
Who will emerge from the election with the keys to Bute House and what impact will that have on financial services and the wider business environment?
In this exclusive session for SFE Young Professionals, two of Scotland’s best political analysts - Geoff Aberdein and Andrew Liddle - will shine a light on the polling, policies and parties that will determine the outcome in May. Geoff and Andrew will share their insights on the campaign, before opening up for Q&A with attendees.
Geoff Aberdein is founder of True North Advisers and co-hosts Holyrood Sources, Scotland’s leading political podcast. He spent seven years at the heart of the Scottish government as a special adviser to the first minister and also had a spell as head of global public affairs for Aberdeen Asset Management.
Andrew Liddle is a former journalist and senior Labour Party advisor who heads True North’s London office. Also an award-winning author, Andrew works with clients in financial and professional services, as well as supporting businesses across tech, energy and the third sector.
